Salary:  $90,000 pa + superannuation

About the Role:
CCW Co-operative Limited is seeking a proactive and innovative Transformation and Innovation Officer, for a 2-year funded position, by the Minister for Primary Industries and Regional Development.

This pivotal role is designed to identify, investigate and research the potential viability of alternative crops that would be readily achievable under the CCW Co-operative business model, with a view to supporting interested growers in transitioning from growing and supplying wine grapes.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive project plan that explores alternative cropping
    opportunities and revenue streams suitable for the Riverland irrigated area.
  • Collect and analyse data to develop contract management and technical support models for new crops.
  • Reporting research outcomes to the CCW Board for input, feedback, and further direction.
  • Identify and engage with growers in the Riverland region, who could benefit from adopting the
    co-operative business model for alternative crops.
  • Provide leadership and support to growers wishing to transition from winegrape production to
    alternative cropping systems.
  • Organise and conduct training sessions, forums, and field days to educate and inform CCW
    members and the broader grower community.
  • Develop and execute a communication plan to disseminate technical information across the value chain, effectively.
  • Establish and track detailed project milestones, providing regular progress reports in alignment with the Grant Agreement between CCW and PIRSA.

Skills and Experience:

Qualifications:
o Tertiary qualifications in Horticulture, Agriculture, Viticulture, or Agribusiness, are highly desirable.

 Experience:
o Proven experience in a similar agricultural or horticultural role, with a strong understanding of crop management and transition processes.

Skills:
o Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Intermediate to Advanced level).
o Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
o Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
